Roof Moisture Surveys 

Roof moisture surveys are procedures utilized to detect underlying moisture in an existing roof or to detect trapped moisture in a newly installed roofing system.

A number of procedures are available including: 

* Infrared moisture survey 

* Dec Scan (electrical capacitance detection) moisture survey 

* Nuclear density survey 

PFRI Services can assist you in determining which procedure is best for your needs and can perform all three of these approved procedures. 

The photos below show how moisture is detected utilizing infrared moisture detecting equipment.  A visual inspection of the surface of the roof gives no indication of the underlying moisture.  The installation of a roofing system over this roof, trapping the moisture will contribute to the premature failure of the underlying deck and structural components.
